Helene Diamantopoulos - Make Up Consultant

Helene Diamantopoulos began her career with make-up when she got her first job in a pharmacy at the age of 16.

With in the 10 years of working in pharmacy she was trained by a number of cosmetic houses and managed the Juvena Cosmetics counter. After accepting a position with Juvena cosmetics, to manage a counter in an up market department store, Helene relocated to Melbourne. From there she had a number of jobs, some in cosmetics, some in telecommunications.

After being in the work force for 20 years it was time to take maternity leave to have her first child. However, as you know, things don’t always go to plan and Helene was made redundant. This left her in the position of being a full time mum. Whilst loving her daughter, she needed something for herself. Something  she could have fun with, give her a little bit of income, some independence, but be flexible for her family.

So when a girlfriend told her she had joined Mary Kay as a Beauty Consultant and Helene should give it a try, she though, why not. So after trying the products at a beauty appointment and being very impressed, she signed up.

That was eleven years ago…….

When she said yes and ordered her showcase she wasn’t aware she was pregnant with her son. However she got herself started and worked it around her family and pregnancy.

Because she loved what she was doing so much, Helene soon started to share her job with other women who could see the benefits of what Mary Kay had to offer. For the first time in her life she was a business owner, setting goals both personally and for her business as well as sharing her experience with her own team of girls.

Today Helene is a Sales Director with Mary Kay where she has a team of consultants who she provides training, support and mentoring to. Plus she also facilitates the company training to new consultants.

Whilst Mary Kay is a cosmetics company, they are a company of opportunity and possibilities. Many of the skills Helene has acquired in Mary Kay are being used every day with her children, friends and business associates.

“I have to say I love watching women transform right before my eyes. Wether it be the glow to their skin, a brand new look or feeling like a queen because now they are in the know as we have shared tips, given advice and shown them skills that enrich their life and build their confidence.”
